| When
Alfredo Gianotti died nobody was able to get ahead with his workshop. His
pupil, Eugenio Meli developped his proper workshop and his customers; there
were not other pupils with him. Sisters and brothers inherited his tools, his workbench, his gouges, his secret of varnish and a certain number of own violins, violas and cellos that Alfredo Gianotti considered of high best quality. How could all this worth of knowledge, culture, tradition and ability die? Ten years later a nephew put the relatives together and created the foundation. |
